What paint correction is
Paint correction is machine polishing that removes a fraction of the clear coat to level out swirls, light scratches and dullness, so the paint reflects properly again instead of scattering light. It is not a filler or a wax that hides marks for a fortnight. The defects are actually taken out.
Most of the damage comes from washing. Years of sponges, brushes and grit dragged across the car leave swirls, holograms and fine scratches, the marks you see under petrol station lights. Correction brings back clarity, gloss and depth, and a ceramic coating then protects the result.
Which level does your car need?
There are four levels of machine polishing. The right one depends on how damaged the paint is and how close to perfect you want it.

The correction packages are priced by the size of the car. Bigger cars have more panels, which means more hours. The Gloss Enhancement is £475 for any size.

Who it is for
- Cars covered in wash swirls. If you can see swirls in the sun or under petrol station lights, a Single Stage takes most of them out.
- Heavily swirled or shredded paint. The 2 Step is a heavy cut followed by a refinement polish to restore real depth.
- Deep scratches, etching or texture. The Wet Sand Detail levels the paint with precision wet sanding, then a multi-stage polish.
- Paint that is just tired. If it is dull rather than damaged, the Gloss Enhancement brings it back in a day.
What happens on the day
- Safe wash and decontamination. Clay bar, iron remover and tar remover strip the paint back to clean before any machine work.
- Paint depth and test spot. The paint depth is gauged and a test spot is cut, so we know what the clear coat will take and which pads and compounds suit your paint.
- Correction. A single stage polish, a heavy cut then refinement polish, or wet sanding followed by a multi-stage polish, depending on the package.
- Ceramic coating. Slick on the Single Stage and 2 Step, Ballistic on the Wet Sand Detail, or an upgrade if you chose one.
- Full inspection. The whole car is checked over completely before handover.
Drop off is 9am and collection is 5pm: the next day for a Single Stage, two days later for a 2 Step and five days later for a Wet Sand Detail. Rinse Revive is based at 103 Broad St, Denny FK6 6DX, and covers roughly 30 miles around Falkirk. We confirm the arrangements for your car when we quote.
The correction packages are paintwork jobs and do not include a full valet. If the inside needs doing too, mention it when you ask for a quote.
Aftercare
Every correction package includes one safe wash, redeemed 7 days after collection. After that, a maintenance wash at least once a month (£50) keeps the coating unclogged and performing at its best.
The quickest way to undo a correction is a sponge, a brush or a bucket of gritty water. If you would rather we kept on top of it, Monthly Detailing is £80 a month for cars we have already worked on.

How long does paint correction take?
A Single Stage is a 2 day service, a 2 Step is 3 days and a Wet Sand Detail is 5 days. Drop off is 9am and collection is 5pm on the last day. The Gloss Enhancement is done the same day, 9am to 5pm.
Will paint correction remove every scratch?
Not every one, and we will not pretend otherwise. A Single Stage removes 70 to 80% of swirl marks and light scratches, a 2 Step removes 80 to 90% of defects, and the Wet Sand Detail removes 95% plus, including deep scratches and etching. The test spot at the start sets the plan for your paint.
Is paint correction safe for my paint?
Machine polishing removes a fraction of the clear coat to level out swirls and scratches, so the paint depth is gauged before we start. A test spot is done first so the right pads and compounds are used on your paint.
What is the difference between Gloss Enhancement and paint correction?
The Gloss Enhancement is a gloss-boosting machine polish rather than a correction. It lifts light swirls, haze and dullness in a single day for £475. Paint correction goes further and is built to remove a set percentage of defects, from 70 to 80% on a Single Stage up to 95% plus on the Wet Sand Detail.
Does paint correction include a ceramic coating?
Yes. The Single Stage and 2 Step include Slick, a 1 year plus ceramic coating, which can be upgraded to 3 years for £175 or 5 years for £250. The Wet Sand Detail includes Ballistic, 3 years plus, with a 5 year upgrade for £250.
Is a valet included?
No. The paint correction packages are paintwork jobs and do not include a full valet. If you want the inside done as well, say so when you ask for a quote.
